Usually, in the stories, vampires and werewolves are usually the nemeses of each other and these two creatures of the night go toe-to-toe with their packs and groups, having a continuing disdain on each other. In the Marvel lore, both of them are present.

That being said, even before the arrival of Werewolf by Night, a famous character connected to vampires and another hunter is about to come into the franchise and rumors surround Blade appearing on the Marvel special presentation opposite the titular werewolf.

Unfortunately, Blade isn't appearing on Werewolf By Night despite the rumors. It only features the titular character, Jack Russell, and other hunters who are after the Bloodstone after the death of Ulysses Bloodstone.

Michael Giacchino, director of Werewolf By Night, speaks up with The Wrap, addressing the rumors about Blade making a cameo in the special presentation.

Giacchino said, "As you start getting into the story and as you start developing a lot of those things that in the very beginning are just shiny extras, drop off. You don’t need them."

Giacchino further explained that if the story doesn't need Blade in it, they wouldn't even dare include it, "I’m a big fan of getting rid of what you don’t need. If you don’t need it, don’t do it because it just, we’ve all seen movies that have a lot in them that you don’t need."

"I tend to lean the other way. I want to get rid of as much as possible. It takes a lot of thinning out, a lot of work. But it was a thought but it was never a thing," Giacchino added.

True enough, the narrative was complete even if Blade didn't appear in the special presentation. Also, it wouldn't be the perfect time for Blade to arrive in the MCU as well given the problems the production recently encountered after it has been confirmed that Bassam Tariq isn't the director anymore.

Have you seen Werewolf By Night? It is currently available to stream on Disney Plus. As for Blade, it is currently scheduled for a November 2023 release but it is still unknown whether finding a new director would push back the release date.
