Andrew Garfield recently opened up about the possibility of reprising the role of Facebook co-founder Eduardo Saverin in The Social Network Part II.
We recently learned the exciting news that Sony and Aaron Sorkin are officially moving forward with a standalone sequel to the 2010 classic titled The Social Reckoning. It will feature an all-new cast, including Jeremy Strong, who is taking over the role of Mark Zuckerberg from Jesse Eisenberg, and focuses on the 2021 exposé by whistleblower Frances Haugen and reporter Jeff Horowitz.
Is Andrew Garfield Reprising His Role in The Social Network Part II?

Speaking recently with IndieWire, Garfield was asked whether he would be reprising the role of Eduardo Saverin in the sequel to The Social Network.
He confirmed that he won't be returning to the film, since the character is no longer part of the story and has moved to another country in real life.
"No, no. Eduardo is in Singapore having a good time," the actor said.
Garfield is referring to Saverin's renunciation of his U.S. citizenship and moving to Singapore around 2009, which he explained "was based solely on my interest in working and living."
When asked whether he is looking forward to seeing the film when it releases next year, the actor simply responded, "Oh yeah."
So far, none of the cast members from the first film are confirmed to reprise their roles in the standalone sequel.
What to Expect in The Social Network Sequel
The sequel to The Social Network, titled The Social Reckoning, focuses on events that take place nearly two decades after the boy-genius programmer and a troupe of tech pioneers invented what would go on to become the world’s largest social media platform.
Described as a "companion piece" or standalone sequel to the first film, it tells the true story of how Frances Haugen, a young Facebook engineer, enlists the help of Jeff Horwitz, a Wall Street Journal reporter, to go on a dangerous journey that ends up blowing the whistle on the social network’s most guarded secrets.
The film will be based on Horowitz's article, "The Facebook Files," which was published in The Wall Street Journal. Sorkin, who won an Oscar for writing the first film, is set to return as both the writer and director of the project.
The cast includes Mikey Madison as Frances Haugen, Jeremy Allen White as Jeff Horowitz, Jeremy Strong as Mark Zuckerberg, and Bill Bur. It is slated for release in theaters on October 9, 2026.
