After Spider-Man: No Way Home hinted at Eddie Brock’s arrival in the movie series with a drop of the Venom symbiote seen in the film’s post-credits scene, it looks like he may finally appear in Spider-Man: Brand New Day.

Sure, Michael Mando’s Mac Gargan, a.k.a. Scorpion, is expected to be the main villain of Spider-Man 4.

However, it was also the Better Call Saul actor who teased that Venom might be appearing in the film.

Will Venom Appear in Spider-Man: Brand New Day?

After Mando was announced to return in Brand New Day following his brief appearance in Spider-Man: Homecoming, he shared a series of images related to his character on Instagram.

Sure, they were just a selfie showing his scorpion tattoo on his neck, an image of the word “sting,” and a photo of Tom Holland in his Spidey suit—but he also included a shot of his comic-accurate costume alongside Venom.

Comic book fans know that Scorpion eventually becomes the host of the Venom symbiote, granting him powers and abilities far beyond his own.

So, in Spider-Man 4, there’s a strong possibility that Scorpion could take Eddie Brock’s place in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) after being defeated by Spider-Man.

Venom might have died in Venom: The Last Dance, but the piece of the symbiote left behind at the end of No Way Home was never recovered.

The Last Dance post-credits scene also revealed that another piece survived, as a cockroach was seen crawling around the rubble after Area 55’s Rex Strickland collected it.

With that being said, a small fragment of the villain still exists in the MCU and is only waiting for its next host.

In Marvel Comics, Gargan transforms into Venom after bonding with the symbiote. However, his version is far more violent and uncontrollable compared to Brock’s.

Gargan’s Venom is driven by a bloodlust that causes him to act erratically to the point that he even commits acts of cannibalism.

In addition to the usual superhuman powers, he gains new abilities such as shape-shifting, web-slinging, rapid healing, and using the symbiote as a fifth limb. He can even form a scorpion-like tail.

But because the symbiote has more control over Gargan than it does over Brock, Gargan begins to lose his original personality, becoming more savage.

At one point, Norman Osborn gives Gargan a special medication that allows him to shift between a Spider-Man-like form and his Venom form.

He even wears a high-tech Scorpion battlesuit alongside the symbiote, earning him the nickname “Ven-orpion.”

However, Gargan’s struggle to control Venom often leads to conflicts with Spider-Man, Anti-Venom, and other heroes.

So fans will have to wait and see if this storyline makes it into Brand New Day, which is slated to premiere in July 2026.
