The hype for Venom has come and gone with October, but Sony has one more Spidey adventure set up for December in the form of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. The international version of the film's poster has made its way online, and it reveals a more generic title that could be more understandable to fans abroad.
Check it out:
Apparently, the movie is called Spider-Man: New Generation, and it has Miles Morales in-between the classic Spider-Man Peter Parker as well as Spider-Gwen. With Peter Parker spending a good chunk of the movie teaching Miles how to be Spider-Man, I guess New Generation could be an accurate title.
Though I thought that Venom was terrible, Into the Spider-Verse looks way more interesting to me as a moviegoer. We're introduced to a bunch of new characters, and we get to explore a multiverse for the first time in the superhero genre. Sony can do away with all their spinoff films if they just keep pumping out projects with ideas like Into the Spider-Verse.
I can't imagine anyone who would be excited for a Kraven the Hunter spinoff movie at all.
Miles Morales comes across the long-dead Peter Parker. This Peter Parker is not from his world though; he's from somewhere else in the multiverse. With Parker's guidance, Miles will become Spider-Man: and through that, he will become part of the ever-expanding 'Spider-Verse'.
Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is aiming for a release on Dec. 14, 2019.
