As a reality TV fan, you might be wondering whether the couples that supposedly have romantic sparks would continue after the cameras stopped rolling.

Dating reality shows always sell the idea of believing in love when you find the right person, and viewers want to believe that the couples that they watch are also in love off-camera.

For the most part, the couples that we see in dating reality TV shows are legitimately in love or have sparked romantic chemistry while filming the series.

After all, they join reality TV shows to find a romantic partner and believe in the intention that it will help them find the love of their life.

There is also the fact that the couples didn't have the proper amount of time to know each other while meeting so they might go on more dates off-camera to find out whether they have indeed found their partner.

However, there are times that the on-screen moments don't reflect who they are in real life and they are doing them for the sake of the series. While it might not be in the level of resentment, they might not be as in love as they are presenting themselves to be.

In the end, dating reality shows like The Bachelor and Love is Blind were made for entertainment's sake and, even if the romantic relationships that they featured may not last, viewers are still invested in their journey.

The Success Rate of Dating Reality TV Shows

While a lot of the dating reality shows that we're watching promise that the couples will have long-lasting romance, studies have shown that the success rate is not as high as viewers might want it to be.

For example, according to a report, The Bachelor has a very small percentage of success rate with "only five couples from the Bachelor franchise are still with their final picks" as of 2022, and "with 26 bachelors in total, that makes the success rate less than 4%."

Meanwhile, The Bachelorette's overall success rate is "slightly higher than its male counterpart, clocking in at 22%."

It is a similar case with Love is Blind as a report suggested that it has a low success rate when it comes to the longevity of the relationships that were formed.

A report claimed that "four out of 16 engagements (one-fourth) resulted in marriages, and two of those four marriages (one-half) are ending in divorce. In other words, only 12.5 percent of engagements on Love Is Blind have resulted in marriages lasting longer than one year."

While the relationship of reality TV couples off-camera may not last long based on statistics, most viewers would still be sold by the narrative that is being presented to them in dating reality shows as proven by their loyal fanbase and consistent viewership.
