What Happened to Will Byers in the Stranger Things Season 5 Finale?

Will managed to get inside Henry Creel's memory about the cave. He infiltrated Vecna's mind and stopped him whenever he could. In the end, he's one of the reasons that El managed to defeat Henry and the Mind Flayer.
As for his happy ending? He and Mike didn't end up together. But he did meet someone. In Mike's words, Will spent his time away from Hawkins and "found his place there." At the bar, Will found happiness and acceptance, free to be who he is and who to love in public.
Despite the tears in Mike and his friends' eyes, they were all happy with how things ended for them and in Hawkins, still.
For now, it remains to be seen what Noah Schnapp's next projects will be, as he's focused on finishing his degree at the University of Pennsylvania.
