- Quick Answer: Endgame's time travel allowed heroes to live on "borrowed time," provoking Doctor Doom to arrive and reclaim those stolen lives in Doomsday.
Marvel Studios is about to re-release Avengers: Endgame and has added some scenes that will connect the 2019 hit movie to the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday.
As the connection between the two films won’t be revealed until Endgame hits theaters again on September 25, the latest Doomsday trailer from D23 Expo shows the events that may have led to the arrival of Doctor Doom (Robert Downey Jr.) in the MCU. So, which scene is it, and how does Endgame connect to Doomsday?
How Avengers: Endgame Sets Up Doctor Doom in Avengers: Doomsday?

The new Avengers: Doomsday trailer reveals that Avengers: Endgame is to blame for the arrival of Doctor Doom in the MCU.
This comes from Doom’s line about “stolen lives” and the Avengers living on “borrowed time,” adding that now is the best time to collect on that.
So, what does it mean? Endgame featured time travel and the Avengers’ efforts to undo Thanos’ (Josh Brolin) actions from the 2018 film Avengers: Infinity War.
The Mad Titan emerged victorious after snapping half of the universe out of existence using the Infinity Gauntlet.
However, the heroes left alive did everything they could to reverse it. Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) snapped his fingers to bring back everyone Thanos had killed, sustaining only a nasty injury, while Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) died after using the Infinity Stones to wipe out Thanos and his army.
So, from regular people to fan-favorite heroes like Spider-Man (Tom Holland) and Star-Lord (Chris Pratt), those who came back to life are likely the ones Doom is referring to when he talks about “stolen lives” and “borrowed time,” connecting Endgame to Doomsday.
But if there’s one character who may have lived with it, it’s highly likely to be Steve Rogers (Chris Evans).
Steve time-traveled to live with Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell) in the past after being separated from her at the end of Captain America: The First Avenger.
That said, he may be living the biggest “stolen life” of them all. As Steve seems to have a happy life with Peggy and a child in the trailer, the latest Doomsday teaser hints at the opposite for Doom – seemingly losing a wife and child, judging by the carving on the wall he’s staring at.
This potentially sets up Doom’s arrival in Doomsday, having the Avengers pay the price for ruining the timeline by restoring the stolen lives and borrowed time.
What Will the Re-release of Avengers: Endgame Reveal?

Titled Avengers: Endgame Encore, X user Cryptic4KQual claims the re-release will feature a new intro, multiple bonus scenes, and an extended ending that will directly lead into Avengers: Doomsday.
The insider also reveals that it will be seven minutes longer than the original due to the additional scenes.
But while the scooper has no idea whether there will be a post-credits scene, the original Endgame credits feature the sound of Tony Stark making his first Iron Man suit in the cave from the first Iron Man movie in 2008.
So, with the introduction of Doctor Doom today, Marvel may change it to feature the new villain building his armor instead of Stark.
While it remains to be seen what it will really unveil, fans will have to wait and see what Endgame Encore has in store when it finally hits theaters on September 25.
