Avengers: Doomsday

There’s no denying that Marvel has a massive fanbase, but whether audiences return to theaters for Avengers: Endgame Encore will likely depend on whether the re-release offers enough new content to justify another three-hour viewing.

While Avengers: Endgame remains one of the highest-grossing films of all time, it has been available to stream on Disney+ since 2019. As a result, many fans have already rewatched the film multiple times from the comfort of their own homes.

That means the biggest incentive to buy another ticket will likely be the additional footage. As Endgame Encore will allegedly run seven minutes longer than the original, it potentially allows for two to four new scenes, along with an extended ending that may bridge Endgame and Avengers: Doomsday.

Some theories even suggest the new ending could involve Steve Rogers (Chris Evans), potentially explaining his return and setting the events of Doomsday in motion. However, this remains purely speculative.

If Marvel delivers meaningful new scenes filled with clues, foreshadowing, and story details that lead directly into Doomsday, they could be enough to convince longtime fans to return to theaters. That connection may ultimately become Endgame Encore's biggest selling point.

On the other hand, if the additional footage amounts to little more than filler and has minimal impact on the overarching story, some fans may choose to wait for clips to surface online and follow discussions instead of paying to see the film again.

Ultimately, Endgame Encore will need to offer more than a few extra minutes of footage if it hopes to persuade audiences to revisit one of Marvel Studios' longest films.

If the new material genuinely sets the stage for Doomsday, many fans may find the return trip to theaters worthwhile.

Avengers: Endgame Encore is scheduled to hit theaters on September 25.
