House of the Dragon Season 2 Release Date: When Is the Second Season Coming Out?

House of the Dragon season 2 has already wrapped filming and is expected to be released in summer 2024. A season 3 renewal had been confirmed ahead of season 2's release.
House of the Dragon was renewed for a second season on August 26, 2022. Francesca Orsi, the Executive Vice President of HBO programming, shared a statement regarding the renewal.
House of the Dragon Season 2 Cast: Who Are the Actors Included in the Second Season?

Cast members we can expect to see in House of the Dragon Season 2 include:
- Matt Smith as Daemon Targaryen
- Emma D’Arcy as Rhaenyra Targaryen
- Olivia Cooke as Alicent Hightower
- Rhys Ifans as Ser Otto Hightower
- Harry Collett as Jacaerys "Jace" Velaryon
- Steve Toussaint as Lord Corlys Velaryon
- Eve Best as Princess Rhaenys Targaryen
- Fabien Frankel as Ser Criston Cole
- Ewan Mitchell as Aemond Targaryen
- Tom Glynn-Carney as Aegon II Targaryen

Paddy Considine and Elliot Grihault will not be returning in Season 2, given their characters' deaths in the first season.
While there were rumors about Milly Alcock returning in the second season in flashbacks, the actress said she will not be in House of the Dragon Season 2.

Who are the Creative Minds Behind House of the Dragon Season 2?

House of the Dragon was created by Ryan Condal and George R.R. Martin (the author of the book series that inspired the entire Game of Thrones franchise). Both also serve as executive producers.
Other executive producers for Season 2 include Ron Schmidt, Sara Hess, and Vince Gerardis. While Miguel Sapochnik exited the series, former Game of Thrones helmer Alan Taylor will be stepping in as one of the additional executive producers.
Ramin Djawadi, who previously composed the score for Game of Thrones, is the composer for House of the Dragon.
House of the Dragon Season 2 Plot: What Will the Second Season Be About?

The first season of the series covers a portion of George R. R. Martin's novel, Fire & Blood, on which it is based.
House of the Dragon Season 1 portrays the events that eventually lead to the civil war within the Targaryen family called the Dance of the Dragons, where two Targaryens stake their claim on the throne and battle it out after King Viserys dies.
Season 1 ended with the event that kickstarted the Dance of the Dragons, and showrunner Ryan Condal said that Season 2 will "pick up where we left off." Condal also said:
