While the show has been airing with no issues since the season began, Hell’s Paradise Episode 9 has been delayed, and fans believe it is because of possible MAPPA production issues.

This delay came as a surprise to many, especially as there haven’t really been many delays during the Spring 23 season, especially when compared to Winter 23, which saw lots of shows get lengthy delays.

Thankfully, it seems that this Hell’s Paradise delay will only be for one week, at least based on the initial announcement.

Hell’s Paradise Episode 8 was released on Saturday, and shortly after its release, the show’s official Twitter account announced that Episode 9 will be delayed by a week.

Because of this, Episode 9 is now scheduled to release on June 3, 2023. Originally, the episode was set to release on May 27.

From the announcement, there’s no word on whether the show’s other episodes will face similar delays, so fans will have to wait and see if more delays will happen.

Back in Winter 23, multiple anime titles such as NieR: Automata Ver1.1a and Ayakashi Triangle were delayed, with many of them going on significant hiatuses.

For instance, Kubo Won’t Let Me Be Invisible stopped airing after the sixth episode. And instead of returning after some weeks, the show was instead rebroadcast from the beginning in April.

Spring 23 hasn’t seen many delays during its first month, but now, a couple of shows have gotten delayed, including Mashle and Gundam: Witch from Mercury.

Most fans were quite surprised by the delay to Hell’s Paradise, though some already anticipated that it would happen.

This is because there have been rumors and discussions online about the anime facing production issues at MAPPA.

A few weeks ago, some anime fans noted that Hell’s Paradise has some perceived dips in quality, and these might be an indication of trouble during production.

It doesn’t help that MAPPA has been working on shows non-stop over the past few seasons.

Some fans believe that MAPPA’s sheer number of active titles is a reason there’s no Chainsaw Man Season 2 announcement yet.

Of course, these are just theories from fans as there haven’t been official reports or leaks about the status of Hell’s Paradise’s production within MAPPA.

Though it’s still likely that production issues are to blame for the show’s delay.

Hell’s Paradise Episode 9 will be streamed on Crunchyroll in the US on June 3, 2023.
