If fans didn't like it when President Donald Trump used a Game of Thrones reference in one of his tweets, they are going to hate the fact that he has decided to use another one. The president is pretty polarizing after all, to put it kindly, and fans of this show won't enjoy how he puts his politics in this series' statements.
HBO has responded to this, giving their statement to The Hollywood Reporter. While they are happy that people show their enthusiasm for the show, they wish that people wouldn't use these quotes for their political statements, especially when it's so hateful and vindictive. It is a free country though so the President can do what he wants, whether we like it or not.
Game of Thrones is currently in its final season, which has a lot of fans feeling very emotional. The first episode already has fans quoting their favorite characters and re-watching their favorite moments. Since this is the finale, we can probably expect some real dark stuff to happen, with fans praying to George R. R. Martin not to kill their favorites.
Knowing Martin, he probably won't listen.
Game of Thrones Season 8 is currently airing on HBO.
