Guardians of the Galaxy's Dave Bautista Officially Retires From Wrestling After WrestleMania 35

Chances are if you knew who Dave Bautista was before Guardians of the Galaxy, you're a wrestling fan. Bautista went by the ring-name Batista and won multiple championships, reaching the top of WWE numerous times. Last night, he took on former mentor Triple H in WrestleMania 35 where "The Animal" lost after Ric Flair interfered, leading to Hunter beating Batista with a Superman Sledgehammer and a Pedigree.

Due to the finish, many would assume that a rematch would happen. However, Bautista went to social media afterward and announced that this match would be his final one for WWE, officially retiring from professional wrestling. Sorry, sports entertainment.

Fans can check out Dave's comments below. It's a sad day for some but this is what most of us expected. After all, Batista has constantly brought up how he wanted his final match to be with Triple H and we were all glad to see it happen. Granted, their match was pretty long, and WrestleMania itself was a five-hour show (seven hours if you count the two-hour kickoff show), but there's no denying that the two put on a solid match, especially when you consider their age.

Now that James Gunn is back, we can expect Bautista to appear in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. If you're interested in checking this match out, watch WrestleMania 35 on the WWE Network.
