Gray and Colin are evidently in deep trouble after screwing up their mission, and just when things couldn't get any worse, they mention a particular name. Gray and Colin argue over Cleveland in Parish episode 2, but what does that mean for the duo?

Parish Episode 2 Hints at Gray and Colin's Tragic Past
It's bad enough that Gray Parish (played by Giancarlo Esposito) had to revert to his old ways as a retired 'criminal' taxi driver reentering the underworld of shady business.
However, being brought back together with an old partner-in-crime makes it worse.
Despite Colin's (Skeet Ulrich) attempt to lighten the mood by helping him cover up the dead body at the crime scene in Parish episode 2, Gray doesn't let himself get roped into Colin's words.
Considering Gray is only here for one thing: to pay for his loads of debt, getting involved with Colin again wouldn't do him any good for his life or his family's future.
And so, in the middle of an argument trying to accomplish their mission, Gray confronts Colin by saying, "You never think ahead of nothing."
In response, Colin tells him, "This ain't my drop. You're the one who brought us out here." Gray and Colin end up bringing up Cleveland, which seems to be a place or event that screwed up their past.

Who or What is the Cleveland Colin Mentions in Ep 2?
Colin defends himself by claiming that whatever happened to 'Cleveland' was not his fault. However, it appears that the Cleveland being mentioned here is not about the place, but rather, a person.
Gray explains that at the time, he was warning Colin that they should've bailed on the job. Colin, on the other hand, points out that the only reason Gray jumped in on the opportunity was because his wife was pregnant.
The argument is over when Colin retorts how Gray is still drowning in debt, even though they were both in on this gig.
From their conversation alone, it would seem the same thing happened in the past. They messed up the job together. What makes episode 2 different though is that they worked together in the end and escaped the crime scene without a trace.
While the full details of what was up with Cleveland have yet to be revealed, Parish still has 4 episodes left before the series ends.
