It goes without saying that 1997's Batman & Robin will forever go down in history as the worst Batman film ever produced and the fact that the Joel Schumacher-directed film has hold onto that "record" for 25 years says something. Criticized for its toyetic presentation and bringing campiness back to the Dark Knight, the George Clooney and Chris O'Donnell team-up marked an end to the Bat-quadrilogy Tim Burton first established in 1989.
Unsurprisingly, despite the film ending up as a colossal failure both critically and financially, DC fans are still talking about the film and would oftentimes poke fun at it. Of course, the main issue fans have with the film is Batman's nippled suit which almost looked more pronounced than how it did in Batman Forever.
But for the number of times Bruce Wayne's "Bat-nipples" has been the subject of jokes and memes on the internet, did you know that the divisive costume is currently a hot commodity in the auction world? Heritage Auctions has the costume up for auction with a starting bid of $40,000.
According to the auction house's Vice President Joe Maddalena, the said piece is "is easily the most famous – and infamous – Batman costume ever designed, as evidenced by the fact that all these years later, it continues to make headlines every time Tim Burton and George Clooney get asked about it."

Now, it'll be interesting to see if someone would actually take the bait especially taking into consideration the memorabilia's ridiculous price point. But hey, diehard Batman hobbyists would do anything to get their fix so I wouldn't be surprised if the nippled suit ends up coming home with a fan.
Batman & Robin is streaming on HBO Max.
