Jamie Lee Curtis recently ignited discussion by calling widespread cosmetic alterations "generational genocide", stating it disfigures "generations of predominantly women."
Curtis, 66, is challenging the notion of "better" beauty in this society, asserting that such perfection is "fake." Her stance continues to resonate with the message Freakier Friday is hoping fans understand on the big screens.
What Did Jamie Lee Curtis Mean When She Said "Generational Genocide"?
"The concept that you can alter the way you look through chemicals, surgical procedures, fillers - there's a disfigurement of generations of predominantly women who are altering their appearances," the Freakier Friday star said in a new interview with the Guardian.
The 66-year-old drove her point across by posing with oversized wax lips in a photoshoot for the outlet, that a filtered face 'may' look better, "But what's better? Better is fake."

"The waxed lips is my statement against plastic surgery," the Oscar winner proclaimed, "I've been very vocal about the genocide of a generation of women by the cosmeceutical industrial complex, who've disfigured themselves. The wax lips really sends it home."
She clarified that she specifically used the word 'genocide' because it's a "strong" word, recalling its definition of the deliberate and systematic destruction of a national, ethnic, racial, or religious group.
This isn't the first time Curtis has spoken out about Hollywood trends. If anything, she's intentionally pressing on the issue, especially considering how rampant pressure is instilled on actors to stay young and fresh for the cameras.
Previously, she called out how Facebook spread her AI commercial without consulting her about whether she'd agree to such.
How Does Freakier Friday Stand by Jamie's Words on Shutting Down Hollywood's Obsession?
Freakier Friday is not just a testament to how sequels bring life back to the original franchises; it's how Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan's return carves a better future for fans to forget the pressure of needing to look young in their forties and sixties.
While most films would think growing old is one of the scariest experiences in life, Freakier Friday embraces both generations that fans can't help but look forward to once it's their turn on the wheel.

Amid Lohan sparking plastic surgery rumors herself, Curtis said she tends to "mind her own business", adding that her co-star is a "fully functioning, smart woman, creative person" whom she still treats as an old friend.
Curtis further explained that she is not "proselytising" women who choose to undergo cosmetic procedures, "All I know is that it is a never-ending cycle. That, I know. Once you start, you can't stop. But it's not my job to give my opinion; it's none of my business."
Meanwhile, fans can expect Freakier Friday out in theaters on August 8.
