People were recently shocked when Jason Momoa decided to shave his beard in an effort to promote the use of aluminum as an alternative to plastics. Not surprisingly, the act had Game of Thrones fans wondering if he waited until now to remove his beard because of one last appearance as Khal Drogo in the final season.
Momoa played Khal Drogo in the first season of Game of Thrones and although people were initially against the character, they soon grew to love Daenerys Targaryen's first husband. Unfortunately, Drogo was killed off in the season finale. Momoa had a cameo in Season 2 where Drogo and Dany's son Rhaego appeared in her vision.
Of course, this should be enough reason for Drogo's return in Game of Thrones to be impossible. Nevertheless, there have been several theories that the Khal will miraculously be brought back in Season 8.
One theory suggests that Drogo was resurrected as Drogon, Dany's favorite dragon. This is probably why Drogon was watching closely when Jon and Dany shared a kiss in the Season 8 premiere.
So is it possible that Momoa will reprise his role as Drogo in one of the upcoming episodes of Game of Thrones Season 8? Some believe that there could be a flashback sequence featuring the Khal. However, considering that there are only five episodes left, the final season might simply march forward without looking back at the fallen characters.
The official title of Game of Thrones Season 8 Episode 2 has not yet been revealed. The next episode is expected to air on HBO on April 21.
