Belly (Lola Tung) and Conrad’s (Christopher Briney) story will continue on the big screen, as Prime Video has announced The Summer I Turned Pretty: The Movie.
Just hours after the third season finale, fans went into a frenzy with the confirmation that the series will conclude with a feature film. The show’s official Instagram page shared a photo from the finale premiere celebration in Paris.
The snap featured Tung and Briney posing in front of a cinema marquee that reads The Summer I Turned Pretty with the words The Movie below. So, to fuel the excitement even more, here’s everything we know so far.

Belly and Conrad reunited on her 22nd birthday. While their initial greeting was awkward, they soon found themselves reminiscing about their past relationship.
Conrad eventually confessed his love for Belly, though she wasn’t sure about her feelings just yet. However, as he was about to leave, Belly realized she had never stopped loving him and poured her heart out to him.
The couple then returned to Cousins, and with the series skipping a major part of the book it’s based on, fans already have an idea of what The Summer I Turned Pretty: The Movie will be about—the wedding.
When asked if the film would indeed focus on Belly and Conrad’s long-awaited wedding, showrunner and author Jenny Han teased that fans could look forward to the next chapter in Belly’s life.
“I can say there’s another big milestone for Belly, so we’ll continue with that journey,” she told Today.
She also hinted in a press release that “only a movie could give” the next big milestone in Belly’s journey “its proper due.”
“I’m so grateful to Prime Video for continuing to support my vision for this story and for making it possible to share this final chapter with the fans,” Han continued.
While the wedding may be the focus of the movie, there may still be some surprises fans need to see.
Who will be the Cast of The Summer I Turned Pretty: The Movie?
While the official cast of The Summer I Turned Pretty: The Movie is yet to be revealed, lead stars Tung, Briney, and Gavin Casalegno are expected to return to reprise their roles as Belly, Conrad, and Jeremiah.
The film may also wrap up some of its lingering storylines, which may see the comeback of Sean Kaufman as Steven, Jackie Chung as Laurel, and Isabella Briggs as Denise.
When will The Summer I Turned Pretty: The Movie be Released?
So far, Prime Video has not announced a release date for The Summer I Turned Pretty: The Movie.
The film was greenlit just 12 hours after the third season finale, so it may still be some time before Han finishes the script and production begins.
In fact, Han herself couldn’t provide a timeline for the movie’s release. “It's still a little too soon to say,” she explained.
She did reveal, however, that she has already completed the draft, though the premiere will likely not happen next year.
Hopefully, it won’t take as long as fans had to wait for the third season after the second.
