Former Iron Fist Star Says Netflix Show's Cancellation Made Him 'Kind of Happy'

There is little doubt that people are still upset about all the Marvel shows that were cancelled by Netflix. However, there is one person who is "kind of happy" that Iron Fist was not renewed for the third season. Interestingly, Sacha Dhawan has a valid reason for this.

Dhawan, who played Davos aka Steel Serpent in Iron Fist, has opened up about the show's cancellation. The History Boys star admitted that it made him "really sad" to learn the news, it also led to new opportunities.

"Yeah, I was really sad, in a way, because I absolutely… I loved the cast and the crew, and I loved learning the martial arts. Physically changing for the role was amazing, and I'd happily do it again," Dhawan told Digital Spy. "But at the same time, I was also kind of happy to have had the experience, and it just meant I was able to do other things and take on new projects."

Of course, there was a time when Dhawan was worried he would never find a great role after Iron Fist. However, his fears were unfounded.

"There is a fear when you get that call that says it's not happening again – and you're like, 'Oh my God, I'm not going to work again.' But since then, I've done Doctor Who and Dracula, and I've just finished a new series for Hulu," Dhawan said. "I guess, in a good way, it's allowed me to do other stuff."

We might not get to know what happened to Davos after the events in Iron Fist Season 2. On the other hand, it looks like Dhawan has already moved on and is having the time of his life.

Catch Dhawan as The Master in the Doctor Who Season 12 finale, which airs on BBC on March 1.
