Much has been said about the heated and chaotic Presidential debate between Donald Trump and Joe Biden and a lot of people are calling it the worst thing they've ever laid their eyes on. Now, the writer of the 2015 reboot of Fantastic Four is chiming in to air his thoughts about the controversial debacle.
Taking to his Twitter account, Jeremy Slater, who penned the equally disastrous film remake of Marvel's First Family which starred Miles Teller, Kate Mara, Jamie Bell, and Michael B. Jordan calling the debate the worst thing he's ever seen, and he wasn't afraid nor even ashamed to take a jab at his own film which bombed at the box office and garnered generally unfavorable reviews from fans and critics alike. He wrote: "That was the worst thing I've ever seen, and I wrote FANTASTIC FOUR."
Regardless of his harsh comment though, Slater still campaigned for Biden in another tweet.
The Presidential debate has spun hilarious reactions from several celebrities, most notably Star Wars' Mark Hamill who compared it to the film's infamous Holiday Special. Now, going back to 2015's Fantastic Four, I think we can all agree that it will go down in history as one of the worst superhero films ever made. The film's downfall can be attributed to the lack of true direction and poor storytelling which made it generally painful to watch. Even I have to admit that 2015's reboot makes the 2005 Fantastic Four a better film by default and that says a lot considering the aforementioned comic book flick wasn't that "fantastic" either. Now, there's renewed hope that the First Family will be treated better in upcoming films with Marvel Studios now in control of the characters. Redemption is upon us, I believe.
Speaking of Mr. Fantastic, Invisible Woman, Thing, and Human Torch, fan theories suggest that they'll make their way into the MCU in Ant-Man 3.
