The main reaction from fans about the announcement on Darth Vader's return was mainly joy. However, there were fans that were left quite concerned and thinking about the franchise's timeline. Some were confused as a result of the announcement. Since the series will be taking place 10 years after Revenge of the Sith and before A New Hope, they will be facing off with what is being teased as the rematch of the century.

This left fans worried that if Darth Vader and Obi-Wan will meet again for the Obi-Wan Kenobi series, it may lessen the impact when they will eventually meet again in A New Hope.

Here are what some fans were saying as reported by the Independent:

Despite some fans showing concern about possibly "cheapening" the meeting between Obi-Wan and Darth Vader, most fans are still celebrating over the return of Christensen as Darth Vader.

The production for the Disney+ Obi-Wan Kenobi series will begin in March 2021.
