- Quick Answer: Season 3 will explore Colorado and New Vegas, introducing iconic game elements and FEV lore while continuing Lucy, Max, and The Ghoul’s chaotic journeys.
Fallout Season 3 will continue expanding Prime Video’s live-action adaptation of the video game franchise by introducing long-missing elements from the games.
After Season 1 followed Lucy leaving the Vault to explore the brutal wasteland and uncover dark secrets about Vault-Tec, Season 2 broadened the world with deeper factions, escalating power struggles, and the growing impact of her discoveries.
As the story moves forward, Season 3 is set to finally incorporate key elements from the games that weren’t featured in the first two seasons.
What Game Elements Fallout Season 3 Will Feature?

Showrunner Geneva Robertson-Dworet revealed what Fallout Season 3 will focus on, blending nostalgic gaming elements with new content.
As The Ghoul makes his way to Colorado to find his family, Lucy and Max will also follow their own paths, meaning the story will branch across multiple locations. This approach aims to capture the spirit of the game by featuring several of its regions on TV.
“He [The Ghoul] still needs to figure out exactly where he’s going. Of course, Lucy, Max, and many of our other characters are not necessarily heading to Colorado, so we’re very excited to unveil new locations next season,” Robertson-Dworet told SFX Magazine. “In Fallout, you’re always journeying, exploring, and building out your map, so that’s what we want to reflect.”
Robertson-Dworet also promised that the show would deepen its ties to the video games. Several game elements have been planned for inclusion in the live-action adaptation.
However, Bethesda Game Studios director Todd Howard warned that introducing some of these elements too early could be a mistake.
With Season 3 now underway, Robertson-Dworet believes it may be the perfect time.
“The show is always going to get bigger and explore new regions. There are definitely a few things from the game that we’ve wanted to do since Season 1,” she said. “Now, it’s narratively the right time to include them, but I don’t want to say more than that and spoil it.”
What to Expect from Fallout Season 3?

Fallout Season 3 is expected to take a major step forward, featuring shocking developments and offering a broader look at its post-apocalyptic universe.
The new season will continue the stories of Lucy, The Ghoul, and Max, with Aron Moten, the actor for Max, revealing that the next installment will be full of twists and surprises. “I’m sure there will be more chaos. Much more chaos,” he told SFX.
Season 3 will also explore the power struggle for New Vegas, with factions such as the Enclave, NCR, and Brotherhood of Steel vying for control. Lucy will face the consequences of her father’s actions while navigating the war, while Maximus leads the Brotherhood in the region.
In addition to the game’s iconic regions, the season may feature the Enclave’s Forced Evolutionary Virus (FEV) and potentially introduce new creatures, further expanding the show’s post-apocalyptic world.
Fans can expect all this and more when Fallout Season 3 is released in the latter half of 2027. The first two seasons are currently streaming on Prime Video.
