Smallville star Erica Durance recently offered her take on David Corenswet's Superman costume in the upcoming DCU movie.
The actress famously played Lois Lane during the entire run of the hit CW series, and up to this day, fans still look up to her and Tom Welling's Clark Kent as some of the best on-screen depictions of the DC couple.
Next year, fans will be able to witness a brand new take on the Man of Steel with James Gunn's Superman which would feature the debut of Corenswet as the DCU's version of the hero.
Erica Durance Reacts to David Corenswet's Superman
In a recent interview, Durance shared her take on Corenswet's Superman costume and compared it to Henry Cavill's version in the old DCEU franchise.
She agreed with the fans' sentiments that Corenswet's version has some similarities to Cavill's.
"Yeah, they both look like Henry to me; that's how much those actors look the same. So what I can see, I like the color of the S on Henry's better, but it could be just like the shading. What are people saying about it? Are they saying it doesn't have enough muscles built in? I liked that!" the actress said.
"I thought he looked fantastic; he's gorgeous, and he was wonderful for it. He looks like a real human, which is what you want Superman to be."
Duranced added, "I like that it's going back a little old school, and if I spoke it, I don't know if I like the yellow as much as I like the color on Henry's, but I would say he might be trying to go retro, which might really be an interesting thing. Maybe he's going to take the whole color scheme and push the way he tells the story."
It is a great compliment coming from the Smallville star since most fans may value her opinion as someone who was part of telling one of the most popular origin stories of Superman on screen.
Hopefully, the upcoming movie will live up to the hype as fans have been looking forward to seeing a more hopeful take on Superman again on the big screen. Based on the teases we've seen, it looks like that is exactly what Gunn is going for.
Superman is slated for release in theaters on July 11, 2025.
