Stranger Things Season 5 is expected to be the show’s finale, as confirmed previously by the Duffer Brothers themselves. While plot details are being kept under wraps, the showrunners did post a teaser title of Season 5 Episode 1, ‘The Crawl’, which surfaced Eddie Munson’s possible comeback, and many more fan theories surrounding Season 5 wrapping it all up. However, recently, the Duffer Brothers admit changing their initial storyline of Stranger Things Season 5 to favor fans’ feedbacks on their previous Season 4.

Recently speaking at the WGFestival 2022 event (via Netflix), the Duffer Brothers revealed that Stranger Things’ Season 4 production delays due to COVID protocols has caused them to rethink their initial Stranger Things Season 5 outline. Additionally, the showrunners also thought of tweaking some of the elements in their Season 5 based on fans and fellow collaborators’ comments, including the show’s ending. In an interview with Variety, the Duffer Brothers also teased a glimpse of what Stranger Things Season 5 will be about, and it involves exploring the origins of the Upside Down.

Stranger Things Season 5 is currently still in the works, but is slated to be released sometime in 2024.
