Ryu Sasakura is so thoughtful that he notices everything about his customers, including their clothing and calluses. This part of him appeals to girls such as Miwa Kurushima, but does Ryu Sasakura end up with anyone in Bartender: Glass of God?
Spoiler Warning: This article includes spoilers for the Bartender manga series, so proceed with caution.
Does Ryu Sasakura Have a Love Interest in Bartender: Glass of God?
Bartender: Glass of God is the latest anime adaptation of the Bartender manga series written by Araki Joh and illustrated by Kenji Nagatomo, which ran from May 2004 to December 2011.
Although the new anime has only just begun, Ryu Sasakura has already captured the interest of many of the series' characters, regardless of gender or occupation.
One of them is Miwa Kurushima, the granddaughter of Taizo Kurushima who owns Hotel Cardinal and Kurushima Industries.
Miwa works for Hotel Cardinal's Business Planning Division and has a chance encounter with Sasakura, who is known for serving the Glass of God to his patrons.
When Miwa drank Sasakura's drink for the first time, she knew she had discovered the perfect bartender for Hotel Cardinal's bar counter.
As Miwa attempts to persuade Sasakura to work at Hotel Cardinal, she becomes closer to him than most female characters in the series.
In episode 3 of the new Bartender anime, Miwa became worried about Sasakura losing against Mr. Perfect and doubting himself.
She followed him through the streets, uncaring about the people around her who might hear her shouting that she was worried about him.
So, Does Ryu Sasakura End up with Anyone in Bartender?
In the Bartender manga, Ryu Sasakura did not end up with anyone, despite his close relationship with Miwa Kurushima.
He's still the same Sasakura, who spends most of his time making drinks for his customers to lessen their load or excess luggage.
Those hoping for Sasakura and Miwa to breach the friend zone were let down to see that they remained friends until the series' conclusion.
There were a few ship-tease moments between Miwa and Sasakura throughout the manga, but nothing substantial transpired between them, so don't expect to see them act like a couple in future episodes of the anime.
At some point in the manga, Miwa also took care of Sasakura when he got sick. This could be considered an intimate moment between a male lead and a female lead in most romance series, but not in Bartender.
Meanwhile, Kyoko Kawakami, a bartender who is close to Sasakura, thinks Miwa and Sasakura could have a romantic relationship in the future.
