Emmy-winning The Bear star Jeremy Allen White is set to play legendary music artist Bruce Springsteen in the upcoming biopic Deliver Me from Nowhere.

While the actor has proven with his past works and accolades that he has the talent to play Springsteen, you might be wondering whether he can also sing and perform like the Boss when he portrays him on the big screen. Let's explore below.

Does Jeremy Allen White Sing in Deliver Me from Nowhere?

In his recent appearance on The Graham Norton Show, Springsteen addressed White's casting as him in Deliver Me from Nowhere.

He shared that he is impressed with the Emmy winner's singing performance and called his vocals "pretty good."

"It’s a lovely cast and I am involved a little. This is not easy to do because you can’t do an imitation, you have to do a personal interpretation," the singer said.

"It’s difficult but he is a great actor and sings pretty good."

This should assure a lot of fans who have been wondering whether White could deliver on the singing front coming from Springsteen himself, who has been in contact with the filmmakers during the inception of the project.

"I’ve seen the scripts and I’ve talked to the director. They’re just putting it all together, so I don’t have an awful lot to say about it, but I’m excited about it happening," Springsteen said in another interview.

What is Deliver Me from Nowhere About?

Deliver Me from Nowhere will follow Bruce Springsteen on his journey to make his sixth album, a departure from his previous work and one representing the Boss at his most stripped-down and personal.

Specifically, the film focuses on Springsteen recording Nebraska in the sparest, least fussy way possible—on a four-track cassette in his bedroom in New Jersey. This was a few years before he and his E Street Band became a phenomenon with "Born in the U.S.A."

The film is directed by Scott Cooper. Aside from White, it also stars Jeremy Strong, Paul Walter Hauser, Odessa Young, Stephen Graham, and Johnny Cannizzaro.

Production began this month. It will be distributed by 20th Century Studios. It is currently slated for release in theaters in 2025.
