The California wildfires have reached its deadliest record this year as the flames swept across the state. Not only did the wildfires claim the lives of 31 victims, but it also forced more than 250,000 individuals to flee their homes to avoid the three major blazes burning the state of California. One of those who lost his home to the wildfire was Doctor Strange director Scott Derrickson.
Taking to social media, Derrickson revealed what the wild fires did to his family's home, cooking the interior and leaving the house with nothing but its cement archways and pillars. Posting on Twitter, the filmmaker shared images of his burned home.
"Just a quick update to say that I'm overwhelmed by the incredible outpouring of love and support," the director wrote on his post. "Thank you to everyone who messaged me, and for the dozens upon dozens of you who offered us a place to stay. We are blessed and grateful to be safe and so loved."
Thankfully, while the filmmaker lost most of his material possessions and his home to the wildfires, he and his family were kept safe from the raging flames.
It's really terrible what's happening to California right now. With more than 200 people still missing because of the wildfires and with everyone that's been forced to leave their homes, the California Wild Fires have become one of the worst events in the state this year. Right now Hill Fire, Woolsey Fire, and Camp Fire are still spreading across the area with strengthening winds threatening to spread the fire even further.
