The California fires left a lot of homes in ashes, and one of them belongs to Doctor Strange director Scott Derrickson. He's been giving small updated on his Twitter about what he managed to salvage from the fire, and he reveals that he saved the original Eye of Agamotto promo from the first film.
Check it out:
Derrickson is one of the few celebrities to have his home damaged in the California fires. Others like Gerard Butler, Miley Cyrus, and Neil Young have lost their homes as well. Even Guillermo del Toro shared online that he was worried that his "Bleak House" collection was going to catch fire, but thankfully nothing got too damaged.
For now, it looks like Derrickson and his family are safe, but the loss of their home could certainly prove to be a huge setback for his work. While it hasn't been officially announced, Derrickson had been teasing his work on the Doctor Strange sequel for a while; it looks like he has to put the work on hold while trying to get back up from this disaster.
We don't have a solid story for Doctor Strange 2 yet, but it's said that it will be dealing with the Nightmare Realm. With the MCU films going all out with space and the MCU Cosmic, I would like to see something as surreal as a dreamscape when it comes to this sequel.
No release date has been announced for Doctor Strange 2.
