They both talk hours before their final show, with Karen admitting that she never wants to have children. This upsets Graham, and Karen leaves, but not before Graham tells her, “You’re gonna be alone forever. You know that, right?”
However, backstage, Graham tells Karen that he’s willing to stay with her even if she doesn’t want children. But Karen breaks up with him for good.

What Happened to Karen and Graham After Their Breakup?
Years after the band split, Billy and Camila’s daughter, Julia, started making a documentary about the band.

On the other hand, Graham moves back to his hometown, Hazelwood. He falls in love, gets married, and now has kids who are his whole world.
He thanks Karen for all this, because “I’d probably still be pining after her if she hadn’t been brutally honest with me that night.”
Karen shares with Julia that she told Graham what he needed to hear, but she confesses that she wasn’t being honest with him.
While the two may have broken up with regrets, they both got what they wanted in the end.
