Disney's been pretty busy this week. On Monday the Mickey Mouse House released the very first teaser trailer for Toy Story 4. Today, the spotlight is on the first full-length trailer of Tim Burton's live-action Dumbo.
A magical video, Dumbo's trailer shows off the film's colorful charm as it tries to expand the classic story that celebrates the differences that make each and every one of us special. Mixing the mystical and the melancholic, the trailer seems to promise wonder and heartache from Burton's adaptation of Dumbo.
While the trailer seems a whole lot bright and shiny at the onset, clips littered throughout the video tell viewers that there's going to be a whole lot of struggle in the movie. You can check out the trailer up above.
Right now, Disney is keeping the story details of the film strictly under wraps, however, fans can expect the movie to follow some of the plot points of the original movie where Dumbo, a young elephant ridiculed for his oversized ears, learns how to take flight despite his insecurity and self-doubt.
Rendering Dumbo in CG, the movie will bring together a talented ensemble that includes Colin Farrel, Eva Green, Michael Keaton, Danny DeVito, Joseph Gatt, and Sharon Rooney.
Here's the synopsis for the movie:
"From Disney and visionary director Tim Burton, "Dumbo" expands on the beloved classic story where differences are celebrated, family is cherished and dreams take flight. A new trailer, images, and poster are now available. The trailer features Colin Farrell, Michael Keaton, Danny DeVito, Eva Green, Finley Hobbins, and Nico Parker. Circus owner Max Medici (Danny DeVito) enlists former star Holt Farrier (Colin Farrell) and his children Milly (Nico Parker) and Joe (Finley Hobbins) to care for a newborn elephant whose oversized ears make him a laughingstock in an already struggling circus. But when they discover that Dumbo can fly, the circus makes an incredible comeback, attracting persuasive entrepreneur V.A. Vandevere (Michael Keaton), who recruits the peculiar pachyderm for his newest, larger-than-life entertainment venture, Dreamland. Dumbo soars to new heights alongside a charming and spectacular aerial artist, Colette Marchant (Eva Green), until Holt learns that beneath its shiny veneer, Dreamland is full of dark secrets. "
Dumbo flies into cinemas on March 29, 2019.
