Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is coming out later this year and fans are pretty pumped for the finale of this trilogy. However, fans who have been following Disney news know that there are more films planned, even if they aren't about the Skywalker family. Though most of us are still waiting for the newest trailer, Disney has gone ahead and announced release dates for the three films.
A press release from Disney reveals that we will be getting more Star Wars movies in 2022, 2024, and 2026. If we didn't know any better, it would seem like Disney is already preparing their next trilogy. We all know that Rian Johnson will be making these films in some capacity, which will be good news for some and terrible for others.
Here is the Star Wars-centric part of the press release (via ComicBook.com):
It looks like Disney is prepared to make Avatar one of their household names now that they own 20th Century Fox. While its name might not be as big as Star Wars, Avatar is the number one box office movie of all time so Disney is hoping that the James Cameron-helmed films do gangbusters for them once again.
Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker comes out this December.
