Daredevil and other Marvel shows that originally premiered on Netflix are moving to Disney+, the current streaming platform for the latest Marvel TV shows.
According to a press release from Disney+ Canada (via Twitter user Shahbaz - The Movie Podcast), the streamer officially confirmed the release date of the Marvel shows on the streaming service.
The announcement confirmed that Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, Luke Cage, and The Defenders will be available to stream on Disney+ on Canada on March 16, 2022. However, it's unknown if Disney+ in the United States and other territories will start streaming these shows on the same day or at a later time.
This shouldn't surprise fans who have been keeping up with recent news about the departure of Daredevil and other Marvel shows from Netflix. Earlier this month, we reported about how these Marvel shows are leaving on Feb. 28, so if you're a Netflix subscriber hoping to catch up to these shows before Disney+ potentially revives Daredevil for Season 4, you may want to binge-watch them now, or wait for them to move to Disney+.
The press release also reminds viewers that the new Marvel TV series Moon Knight will premiere on March 30.
There's clearly a strong demand for new seasons of Daredevil and these Marvel TV shows, so the move to Disney+ is a good sign that Disney and Marvel Studios may be planning to revive these shows for their new streaming platform. Daredevil star Charlie Cox, who made a brief cameo in Spider-Man: No Way Home as Matt Murdock/Daredevil, recently admitted that he knows "a little bit" about Marvel's plans.
