DC Universe Reportedly Working on Titans Spin-Off Despite Uncertainty Surrounding the Streaming Service

After WarnerMedia fired a number of employees from DC Comics and DC Universe, many saw it as an end to the streaming service, expecting an all-out merger with HBO Max. Well, it turns out that those fans are only half-right since DC Universe shows like Titans will indeed head to HBO Max but the DC-centric streaming service isn't going anywhere according to Chief Creative Officer and Batman: Hush artist Jim Lee.

Lee talked with The Hollywood Reporter about DC Universe's future, admitting that we would eventually see the streaming service's original content on HBO Max soon. However, Jim Lee does say that DC Universe won't be going away and will have a place somehow, telling fans to stay tuned for more details.

Judging from his comments, it seems like Lee is positive that DC Universe can have a future. The fact that shows like Titans and Harley Quinn won't be exclusive to DCU is going to turn off plenty of fans, especially if they already have HBO Max, so this is going to be a hard sell. Sure, DCU has Batman: The Animated Series and a ton of DC content but that won't be enough for some viewers.
