Bill Belichick’s recent interview with CBS Sunday Morning turned into a major controversy after his 24-year-old girlfriend, Jordon Hudson, interrupted host Tony Dokoupil’s questions about their relationship.
What was meant to be a promotion for the legendary football coach’s upcoming book, The Art of Winning: Lessons from My Life in Football, escalated into an awkward exchange that reportedly caused a delay—not to mention an uncomfortable atmosphere due to the sudden change in mood.
As this quickly went viral, igniting talks about the couple’s 48-year age gap and Hudson’s influence over Belichick, major voices in sports media and pop culture, like Dave Portnoy, Charles Barkley, and others, shared their reactions to the controversial interview.
Dave Portnoy: Jordon Hudson ‘Run the Show’
Known for his unfiltered takes, Dave Portnoy can’t help but reveal what he thinks of Hudson after what he called “most awkward” interview that left him “squirming in his seat.”
“I had met Jordon, and it was clear she ran the show,” he said on his Unnamed Show podcast. “Like, she managed—we both were together at a speaking gig—she just ran the show. It was very obvious.”
His co-host Kirk Minihane even revealed the time when the Barstool Sports founder tried to have Belchick on his podcast last fall, but the 72-year-old icon still “had to go through his girlfriend the entire time.”
Portnoy also weighs in on Belichick’s public statement on his interview, believing it was written by Hudson.
“In my years following Bill Belichick, I would say my knowledge of him, there’s roughly zero percent chance he wrote that,” he said on Sirius XM’s The Megyn Kelly Show. “But he just doesn’t care generally what anyone thinks about him. So to go write that—my guess would be Jordon wrote that.”
He also found it insane that the statement was on the North Carolina website.
“Just insane. It’s shocking,” he continued.
For starters, Belichick released a statement to defend Hudson, explaining he agreed to the interview to talk about solely the contents of the book.
“Unfortunately, that expectation was not honored during the interview,” he continued. “…Unrelated topics were introduced.”
He added he told Dokoupil and the show’s producers that he wanted to keep the conversations centered on his book.
So, when his request wasn’t followed, Jordon stepped in to remind them of the interview’s purpose and “refocus the discussion.”
“She was not deflecting any specific question or topic but simply doing her job to ensure the interview stayed on track.”
Charles Barkley ‘Concerned’ for Bill Belichick
Charles Barkley, a longtime friend of Belichick, expressed his worry for his pal after Hudson intervened his interview.
During his appearance on the Dan Patrick Show, the NBA Hall of Famer turned sports analyst revealed he was confused about what was really going on between the former NFL coach and his young girlfriend.
“I’m not sure what’s going on. He’s been a great friend for me for a long time. We’ve been great friends since he coached for the Browns,” he said. “I think he’s got to be very careful right now. This is starting to be on a very slippery slope.”
Though Barkley admitted that he never talks about other “people’s personal relationships,” he is a “little concerned” for Belichick.
“I might actually reach out to him to make sure everything’s good, but I am concerned from what I’m hearing,” he continued. “It’s not a good look, right, I’ll admit that.”

Megyn Kelly also worries for Belichick, especially his mental health after the messy CBS interview.
On the Monday episode of her show, she described Hudson as someone who got “major Dr. Jill Biden vibes,” referring to the accusations that the former first lady committed elder abuse by not having former President Joe Biden back down sooner from the 2024 presidential run amid the growing concerns for his physical and mental capacity.
She also called the former cheerleader a “monster” for “completely trying to control” Belichick’s response.
“If the spouse is going to be anyplace, they’re normally, like, behind, out of sight, from both the interviewer and interviewee, so as to not be a distraction,” Kelly explained. “Not only was she in sight, but she was a constant distraction. I’m concerned for him.”

Belichick’s daughter-in-law Jennifer Schmitt, who is married to the former NFL coach’s son, Stephen, lashed out his father-in-law’s girlfriend by commenting on ex-New England Patriots players Julian Edelman and Rob Gronkowski’s post on Instagram about their Dudes on Dudes podcast.
The two alleged Hudson was “working with coach Belichick in the professional world” as his publicist.
Schmitt then chimed in and wrote, “Publicists act in a professional manner and don’t ‘storm’ off set delaying an interview.”

Hudson’s unnamed high school classmate speaks up about the cosmetology school graduate’s “controlling” behavior after the viral interview.
“That is exactly how she is,” she told The Post. “None of us are shocked. We think it is hilarious. …This is totally something she would do.”
She even recalled the “tumultuous” and “dramatic” relationship Hudson had back then to someone who was also older than her.
“She would get mad at him for something stupid and berate him and control him about something or get mad at him over random things,” she added. “Everyone knew their business.”
Kelly Stafford Shows Support for Jordon Hudson
Amid all the negative assumptions about Hudson, she has found an ally in fellow controversial WAG Kelly Stafford.
“I think it’s fair game both ways,” she said on her podcast, The Morning After. “If she doesn’t want to talk about it, then they don’t have to talk about it.”
However, Stafford, who’s married to Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford, admitted that what Hudson did was “unacceptable.”

“I do think there is a little bit of responsibility for her knowing that questions are going to be asked because they are so public with their relationship,” she stressed.
