Although Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 seemingly ended things for the original cast, Dave Bautista is very much looking forward to reuniting with them in a different franchise: the DC Universe.

Considering the endless possibilities with DC Studios co-CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran's rebuilt universe, could there be a chance that a Guardians-like flick will happen in the DCU?

"I hope so, yeah," Bautista recently admitted that if given the chance, he would collaborate with his former castmates again in the DCU, "That's kind of my goal. I really want, because I've done another project outside of Guardians with Karen Gillan, and with Pom now."

Bautista added, "I would like to work with Chris [Pratt] and Zoe [Saldana] outside of the Marvel Universe, as well."

With the DC Universe on the verge of rebuilding their theatrical timeline with James Gunn, Bautista would be "very open" to it if given the right opportunity, "I guess it just has to be the right part. But I'm very open to it, and I love James and I would do anything to work with him."

The Killer's Game star previously shared that while he doesn't necessarily miss playing Drax the Destroyer, he misses something else about his MCU tenure: "What I do miss is the family environment. It's hard to know that we will never be on set together again. It's hard to live with that."

In the same interview, Bautista explained that their last day on the set of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 "feels like there was no closure."

"I never really got to say goodbye to that character and that cast, and there's always going to be some sadness involved when I start thinking about that," so it's only natural for the former MCU star to reminisce their times on set.

Even though there have been no discussions or confirmation yet from Gunn's end, Bautista has been quite candid in expressing his camaraderie with the former Guardians helmer.
