Daredevil season 3 has been one of the more interesting installments in the Marvel-Netflix series of shows, with a lot of interesting character revelations and moments. The origin of Bullseye is what got fans talking the most since his backstory has never been explored in Marvel's comic books, though a few teases have been spread out here and there.
One episode that has been controversial is the one that covers the backstory of Karen Page. Rather than flashback between the past and present, Karen's special episode was entirely dedicated to her backstory. Episodes like these tend to be controversial since they don't always impact the plot directly and rob fans from seeing Charlie Cox's abs.
In an interview with ComicBook.com, season 3 showrunner Erik Oleson discussed the importance of that episode, stating that he feels like there should be no "sidekick characters" and that everyone should be able to have their own story. This was a pretty brave decision since Page has been a character who has received a mixed reaction from audiences.
Karen Page actress Deborah Ann Woll was originally anxious about what her character's backstory was going to be but it looks like her trust in the writers has paid off. Her story was interesting and even paid some tribute to the comics, though fans hoping she would get into porn were sorely disappointed.
Daredevil season 3 can now be streamed on Netflix.
