  • Quick Answer: Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 won't feature major MCU cameos because creators want to focus strictly on the street-level, "granular" world of Hell’s Kitchen.

Fans should not expect any major cameos from well-known MCU characters when they watch the second season of Daredevil: Born Again, starting next month.

With the series being part of the main MCU timeline, there have been speculations about whether they would bring in some of the familiar MCU characters to join The Man Without Fear in his adventures in Hell's Kitchen. Before Born Again, Matt Murdock made appearances in past MCU movies and TV shows, while the first season saw the guest appearances of Kamala Khan's father, Yusuf, and Swordsman from Hawkeye.

Why Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 Will Not Feature MCU Cameos

In an interview with SFX Magazine (via Deadline), showrunner Dario Scardapane was asked whether there are major MCU cameos that fans should expect in the second season of Daredevil: Born Again.

While he would love to see it happen, he shot down the possibility of a crossover with the wider MCU.

"I’d be into it, because I dig the comics! But no… That’s been kind of a fun and challenging thing," he said.

The showrunner explained why they decided to focus more on the Hell's Kitchen corner of the MCU, instead of fitting it further into the wider part of the universe.

"We know there’s that huge world out there of the MCU. This corner of it has crossovers. We’ve seen Daredevil in other shows, there are other characters that are going to be popping up in movies and stuff, and that all goes into the larger MCU of it all," Scardapane said.

"The joke we make is, ‘Oh, those guys are uptown – we’re downtown!’ We kind of have a pocket that’s in this world of Hell’s Kitchen, in this world of New York. I always think that maybe these characters take little vacations into the larger world but the story that we’re focusing on is really granular."

What to Expect in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2

The second season of Daredevil: Born Again will see Mayor Wilson Fisk crush New York City underfoot as he hunts down public enemy number one, the Hell's Kitchen vigilante known as Daredevil. But beneath the horned mask, Matt Murdock will try to fight back from the shadows to tear down the Kingpin's corrupt empire and redeem his home.

Aside from the main cast returning, fans can expect the long-awaited comeback of Krysten Ritter as Jessica Jones, making her the second Defenders main cast member to return in the MCU.

It is set to premiere on Disney+ on March 24. It is expected to consist of eight episodes.
