Daniel Brühl opened up about his potential MCU return as Baron Zemo in an upcoming project as fans are waiting to see him again in the role.

The fan-favorite villain was last seen in the final episode of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier where he escaped the Raft and went somewhere to an unknown place. His storyline remains unresolved up to this point.

There have been speculations that the character could appear in Thunderbolts*, but that is unlikely to be the case as he was absent in any casting announcements surrounding the film.

Daniel Brühl Addresses His Potential MCU Return as Baron Zemo

In a recent interview, Brühl was asked whether he will be making his MCU return as Baron Zemo soon.

He pointed out that his character is still alive and stated that he is "very confident" that he will be reprising the fan-favorite role again at some point.

"It's fine for me, I can wait. [Laughs] I'm a very patient man. No, I'm not, but it's funny, because in the meantime, I just wrapped on a show that's called The Franchise, where it's actually a satire about the superhero universe, so it was fun to switch sides, so to say," the award-winning actor said.

"But knowing Marvel, they have a lot of sense of humor, so they will probably find it as funny as I did. And who knows, I mean, I'm still not dead, I'm very confident that I'll be back."

There are still ways for them to bring back Zemo in an upcoming project, and since he escaped from the Raft, they can develop a storyline where the heroes are looking out for him in a globe-throttling mission.

While the character is not expected to be part of Thunderbolts*, he could still show up through a post-credits scene appearance where they reveal the whereabouts of the characters since his escape and set him up as a key figure in a potential sequel.

Nevertheless, a lot of fans would love to see Brühl again in the MCU and, hopefully, it will happen sooner than we might expect.
