Star Wars films under Disney have managed to attract a lot of ruckuses, with directors changing and reshoots happening for projects like Rogue One, Solo, and even Star Wars: Episode IX, now known as Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. Before J.J. Abrams returned to the director's chair, Jurassic World director Colin Trevorrow was supposed to work on the final installment of the current trilogy but was fired, with reports claiming that his scripting didn't impress the higher-ups.
During her appearance in Happy Sad Confused podcast, Daisy Ridley brought up how she was confused about Trevorrow's firing and asked him about it. She also revealed that the film would have been "very different" under Trevorrow but didn't say how different it would be. We literally have nothing to compare it to so this is a story for another day.
Here's Ridley discussing her meeting with Trevorrow:
"He was Josh [Gad's] guest at [the] Murder on the Orient Express [premiere] and we went for dinner afterwards, and Colin sat next to me and I was like, ‘What's this gonna be like?' Because all I had heard—I didn't know what had happened, I just knew that he wasn't doing it anymore. And he did sort of tell me and sort of not… Actually no we had gone for dinner and stuff, we went for dinner with Michelle, who is a producer. So I sort of knew. I think everything happens for a reason I guess."
This will probably have fans wondering which version would have been better and some might even use the statement as fuel to not watch The Rise of Skywalker. After all, some people are still bitter about The Last Jedi.
Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is coming out this December.
