After less than a week since the series’ release, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners is officially one of the best video game adaptations of all time according to Rotten Tomatoes.
Shortly after the show’s release, Rotten Tomatoes released a list of the best video game TV shows ranked by their Tomatometer score.
In case you’re unfamiliar, the Tomatometer is Rotten Tomatoes’ review metric which represents the percentage of reviews that were positive for a movie or TV show.
For instance, a show with a 100% rating means all the reviews are positive, not that all reviews gave it a perfect score.
In the Rotten Tomatoes list, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners is ranked number 2 with a 100% rating, just behind last year’s hit animated show, Arcane.
Reviews for the new Cyberpunk anime are all positive, with critics praising the show’s story and animation courtesy of studio Trigger.
This reception should be a pleasant surprise for fans, especially considering the mixed reception of the Cyberpunk 2077 game when it was released.
Aside from critical acclaim, viewers have also showered the show with praise. The series also got enough views to crack the Netflix Top 10 list in over 30 countries.
