Cyberpunk 2077 Won't Be Like Grand Theft Auto, According to Devs

Cyberpunk 2077 looks like it's going to be one of the best sci-fi RPGs coming out, with many of us wishing it was coming out next year, though that won't be the case. As an open-world RPG with sci-fi elements, it looks like it's going to fulfill the wishes of many gamers who always wanted to go through one of these dystopian futuristic cities.

Because it's an open-world game, a lot of people are making some comparisons to Grand Theft Auto, the series that basically redefined the open-world gaming genre. Lead designer Miles Toast was asked about this during an interview with GamingBolt, where he revealed that the game would not be similar to Grand Theft Auto or The Witcher 3, which a lot of people were expecting.

Toast does confirm that there will be a lot of side activities that can be done, just like GTA and The Witcher, but the developers are hoping that the game will play differently from those two. He does not slight GTA by any chance as he actually considers it a compliment that the game is getting compared to the open-world juggernaut.

It seems like the game is going to be a very good open-world RPG, with fantastic graphics and awesome-looking gameplay. We can only hope that this title lives up to its own hype since CD Projekt Red has gained a huge fan base thanks to The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

No release date for Cyberpunk 2077, though it will be coming to the PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
