Cyberpunk 2077 Has A Hardcore Mode That Takes Off The UI

CD Projekt Red is already raising up the hype for its upcoming Cyberpunk 2077 game with new details about its gameplay and Keanu's character. They're also trying to excite those who want to put the "punk" in "Cyberpunk" with the option of playing in hardcore mode.

During an interview with Wccftech, CD Projekt RED's UI Director Alvin Liu talked about the game's hardcore mode, revealing that it will remove the game's UI to give a "real challenge" for players so that means players will have to experience the game without indicators or markers telling you where things are or what level of threat you're up against.

That sounds extremely hard to play but it will give players the full immersion of Night City and the desert beyond, but of course, the game is not just trying to appeal to hardcore players. According to Liu, there will be modes for those who are less experienced with first-person shooters.

"If you want to play more casually for the story and maybe you're not experienced with shooters, which was a real big concern for us," Liu explained. "We want to tell a story and maybe you're a big fan of The Witcher and you're not comfortable playing a shooter, we have settings available for that."

There's going to be a Field of View slider for those unfamiliar with first-person games. This will let players see the game's world through the eyes of the avatar.

Liu also said that there will be weapons to help newer players get used to the game's aiming system. For example, the smart gun will help players aim but at the cost of the smart gun being a slower and weaker weapon

Here's a description of the Cyberpunk 2077 game:

"Cyberpunk 2077 is an open-world, action-adventure story set in Night City, a megalopolis obsessed with power, glamour and body modification. You play as V, a mercenary outlaw going after a one-of-a-kind implant that is the key to immortality. You can customize your character's cyberware, skillset and playstyle, and explore a vast city where the choices you make shape the story and the world around you."

Cyberpunk 2077 is set to release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on April 16, 2020.
