Clark Gregg Believes That Avengers: Endgame Will Reboot Avengers: Endgame

Avengers: Endgame means a lot of things to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Not only is the film the second and final installment in Joe and Anthony Russo's two-part Avengers movie, but it also serves as the conclusion to the third phase of the MCU. Endgame is going to bring so much change to Marvel. Even outside the MCU.

Clark Gregg is reprising his role as Phil Coulson in Brie Larson's upcoming debut in Captain Marvel, and with Endgame set to debut right after, the actor's got some big ideas where SHIELD could go next.

Speaking in an interview with Fandom to talk about Captain Marvel and other Marvel topics, Greg decided to open up about his thoughts on the future of SHIELD. The Marvel actor shared his guess where the organization could go in a world after Thanos, and of course, Endgame would play a huge part in the process.

"My theory is that after The Avengers and the Battle of New York, the game was completely changed and the mission of SHIELD changed," Gregg explained in his interview with the publication. "My suspicion is after Endgame there's going to be another complete reboot that involves all of the new people we know about now and all of the new threats. It doesn't get easier for SHIELD ever."

According to Gregg, Endgame could bring about the reboot SHIELD needs, something which might not be too farfetched considering the big plans Marvel has for the MCU after the film releases.

Avengers: Endgame is set to premiere on April 26, 2019.
