Chris Evans opened up about his shocking return as Johnny Storm in Deadpool & Wolverine in a recent social media post.

The MCU star reprised his Fantastic Four role in the new film to the surprise of many fans as they did not expect him to make his comeback in the franchise through his other Marvel character.

While it remains to be seen whether Evans would retake the shield as Steve Rogers in the MCU, it was a great treat for fans to see him play Johnny Storm again after all these years and pay tribute to the Fox era.

Chris Evans Addresses MCU Return in Deadpool & Wolverine

In a recent post on his Instagram story, Evans addressed his cameo as Johnny Storm in Deadpool & Wolverine. He thanked the people involved in the film and called his return as the Fantastic Four character a "dream come true."

He also shared a behind-the-scenes photo of him, Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman, and Shawn Levy on the set of the film.

"Thank you to [Ryan Reynolds], [Hugh Jackman], and [Shawn Levy] for letting me be a part of such an incredible movie! They're the three of the nicest guys you'll ever meet. Special thank you to Ryan for making it all happen," Evans wrote in his caption.

"Playing Johnny again was a dream come true and he'll always have a special place in my heart."

This was not the first time that Evans publicly addressed his cameo in Deadpool & Wolverine as he also opened up about his return as Johnny Storm in an interview after the film's San Diego Comic-Con Hall H panel.

The MCU star revealed that he was not hesitant when Reynolds called him about reprising the role and he "might be the only guy that I would've done it for because he's just got the Midas touch."

It was truly exciting for many fans to see Evans play Johnny Storm again (perhaps for the last time) and it was a wonderful surprise for the audiences when they watched the film on the big screen.

With Robert Downey Jr. returning, it poses a question now whether Evans would follow in his footsteps and make an appearance in the upcoming Avengers movies as well.

Deadpool & Wolverine is showing in theaters everywhere.
