Captain America: Brave New World star Giancarlo Esposito recently opened up about his upcoming MCU debut as fans continue to speculate on the role that he will be playing.
The recently-released teaser trailer of the highly-anticipated MCU film gave us our first look at the veteran actor's mysterious character and, based on the footage, he looks like he will be playing a mercenary figure.
Fans have been guessing which Marvel character Esposito will play in Captain America: Brave New World. A recent rumor has suggested that he might be playing the role of. G.W. Bridge.
Giancarlo Esposito Claims No One Has Guessed His MCU Role
During his recent convention, Esposito teased his MCU debut in Captain America: Brave New World once again and claimed that no one has guessed the role that he will be playing.
"The character I'm playing is a badass. That always excites me. For me to develop that character in line with the character's inception is a fascinating art for me," he told the crowd.
"I had an incredible time shooting it. I'm not telling you who I'm playing... people are trying to guess and no one has guessed correctly yet."
Esposito also added that Marvel Studios might reveal his character during their upcoming San Diego Comic-Con Hall H presentation.
Since the actor's confirmation of his MCU involvement, fans have been speculating on the role that he will be playing in the franchise and wondering whether he is playing another antagonistic type of character.
While Esposito won't be playing someone like Professor X or Magneto, his Captain America: Brave New World role still looks promising and the trailer showed signs that he is playing a meaty character.
Whether it's G.W. Bridge or not, it is exciting that Esposito is finally part of the MCU and, hopefully, his character will be a major figure in the film and have some importance in the franchise moving forward.
Captain America: Brave New World is slated for release in theaters on February 14, 2025.
