The Brothers Sun is filled with new faces and guest stars within its eight-episode run, and two of them happen to be Harold & Kumar actor John Cho and his house. But is that really Cho's house in The Brothers Sun? Let's find out.

In the series' sixth episode, when Mama Sun has to go back to Taiwan, Bruce (played by Sam Song Li) and Charles (Justin Chien) need to find a safe house.

This is where John Cho's supposed house comes into play on The Brothers Sun, as explained by June Song (played by Alice Hewkin):

"Welcome to John Cho's house. We hired his band, Choke on This, to play the Sure Sure Club. In return, he lets us use his holiday house whenever he's away filming a movie. It's the perfect safe house. Totally private. Great security system, and the bar is always stocked."

But the question of veracity ("is this really John Cho's house?") first comes up when Bruce asks Charles, "Do actors really make this much money?"

Charles practically confirms this by mentioning that actor Cho's house supposedly has two million dollars worth of cars out front.

The safe house also happens to feature a couple of magazines with the Star Trek actor's face on the cover along with his posters all over the place, which further begs the question, is this John Cho's house? Is it even a real place?

Yes to that last question! This 50 million-dollar beach house home happens to be one of Malibu's finest luxury homes. This is the Carbon Beach Terrace mansion, located in Villa Splendido.

Is the beach house John Cho's house in real life, though?

The short answer is no. In a recent interview with Consequence, The Brothers Sun creator Brad Falchuk credited writer Amy Wang for making up the 'John Cho house' story.

"...creating this John Cho [character] who's a massive narcissist, [the joke] seemed really funny because it's counter to who he really is," Falchuk explained, "It's perfect for the character of Bruce to see like, 'Oh, this is what a successful actor lives like.'"

Of course, the creators only proceeded to make up John Cho's house only because the actor agreed to it.

According to Falchuk, Cho was on board with it: "He said, 'Just go for it. Just have fun.' I really hope that he likes it when he sees it because it's a salute."

Not to mention, at one point in the episode, the doorbell happened to feature John Cho's voice, too. Did you know? John Cho actually agreed to record his voice for the series, as well!

The Brothers Sun episode 6 had two separate locations: Malibu and Taipei.

While Bruce and Charles had to stay in John Cho's supposed mansion in Villa Splendido, Malibu, and spent some time at Paradise Cove Beach, Mama Sun (played by Michelle Yeoh) went to Taipei.

Specifically, Mama Sun visited the colorful cemetery, Fu De Keng Public Cemetery, which was outside Taipei. This was where she had to visit her sister's grave.
