Britney Spears’s family is reportedly fearing the worst after seeing a video of her erratic driving following a night out with a friend. The incident comes amid former husband Kevin Federline’s major revelations about her health in his new book, You Thought You Knew.
Just last week, the Pop Princess was seen swerving dangerously while driving home after leaving the Red-O restaurant in Thousand Oaks, California.
Comparing this incident to her behavior before her 2007 breakdown, when she famously shaved her head and lost custody of her two sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James Federline, her family is said to be taking extreme measures to help her.
How Does Britney Spears’s Family React to Her Behavior?
Spears’s family is reportedly growing increasingly concerned over her recent behavior while driving home after a night out.
According to the Daily Mail, they’re afraid she might be “losing control” once again following her 2007 breakdown.
“There’s a lot of concern. Everyone has always wanted the best for her, and she’s showing right now that she’s making bad choices,” a source told the outlet.
With that being said, they’re now allegedly in crisis talks about how to help the 2000s pop icon.
“It’s terrifying,” the insider continued. “So there’s a lot of talk about what to do, if anything. How can we protect her from herself?”
Because of this, there are emerging suggestions that Spears should be placed under conservatorship again, after it ended in 2021.
For starters, the controversial legal arrangement, partly controlled by her father, Jamie Spears, strictly managed her life for 13 years before it was finally dissolved, thanks in large part to her fans who launched the #FreeBritney movement.
“The last time Jamie stepped in to protect his daughter, he became public enemy number one,” the source added. “People said he was trying to grab her money, which is not true. So the question now is whether anyone should step in to help her—and deal with the backlash.”

Videos of Spears driving home erratically quickly made the rounds online. Despite what appeared to be her friends trying to stop her from driving, she continued to do so—making a sharp U-turn that caused her tires to screech.
She was also seen tailgating another car while seemingly eating at a red light and drifting into other lanes, including the bike lane, as she drove.
At one point, her black BMW convertible even crossed over the road’s center divider.
Upon reaching her home, Spears allegedly struggled to get inside the gate for about half an hour.
“She would key it in and drive up to the gate, but the gate would not open,” another source told the Daily Mail. “She did this three or four times.”
According to one insider, Spears has been “spiraling” over Kevin’s new memoir, as it has “reopened old wounds,” adding that she was “tailspinning” and “acting out.”
In his book, Kevin made several bold revelations about his ex-wife, including claims that she used cocaine while breastfeeding their sons and cheated with a backup dancer during their marriage. The former couple was married from 2004 to 2007.
He also alleged multiple incidents in which Spears became violent toward him and their two boys.
