Captain Marvel was the last MCU film to help set-up Avengers: Endgame. While the film was fine, showing just how powerful Carol Danvers is going to be, most fans were anticipating the mid-credit sequence and they were okay with it. Honestly, it was far from the best post-credit scene in the MCU but it did give us the cosmic-powered heroine interacting with the Avengers.
Turns out that she didn't actually interact with them. Not in real-life anyway.
On The Tonight Starring Jimmy Fallon, Larson revealed that the mid-credit sequence in Captain Marvel was shot without the other Avengers. According to the actress, she simply did a quick scene on the green screen and was asked to say "Where's Fury?" all angry like. Since Larson shot Endgame first before Captain Marvel, this was probably the best they could do.
There was nobody else there — I was by myself on a green screen. I walked in, and they were like, 'Just real quick, we're just going to whip pan over to you and you're gonna go, 'Where's Fury?'
Apparently, Captain Marvel was still being scripted when they were making Endgame so they didn't have time to ask everyone to come back for a mid-credit scene. Still, the transition was pretty great since no one seemed to notice that. At the least, we will be able to see Larson's character interact with the team more during Avengers: Endgame.
Expect a Blu-Ray release for Captain Marvel soon. Avengers: Endgame comes out tomorrow.
