Bridgerton Season 4 may not arrive until 2026, but Julia Quinn, author of the book on which the show is based, has seemingly hinted at the next lead for Season 5.
Benedict Bridgerton (Luke Thompson) and Sophie Baek (Yerin Ha) are set to make everyone swoon as the new leading gentleman and lady of the upcoming fourth season.
After them, it looks like Eloise Bridgerton (Claudia Jessie) will be the one to tell her love story in the fifth season.
Will Eloise lead Bridgerton Season 5?
Every season of Bridgerton focuses on a single Bridgerton sibling as they navigate love in high-society England during the Regency Era.
So far, Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dynevor) and Simon Basset (Regé-Jean Page) led the first season, followed by Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey) and Kate Sharma (Simone Ashley) in the second season; Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) and Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) in the third season; and Benedict and Sophie in the fourth season.
Now, Quinn herself appears to have teased that Eloise will lead Bridgerton Season 5 after an intriguing post on Instagram.
The New York Times bestselling author shared a collage of photos of herself and Jessie from the show’s set back in 2019.
The snaps included a transcript of their conversation in which Quinn asked the British actress how many of the novels she had read and whether she had read all of them through Eloise’s story.
As the 35-year-old star nodded, Quinn asked if she knew what her character would be up to.
“I know everything,” Jessie responded.
While their conversation seemed innocuous, the caption was quite thought-provoking.
“Looking back… and looking ahead,” it read, accompanied by the hashtags #PhiLoise and #ToSirPhillipWithLove.
Since these hashtags refer to Eloise’s story in the fifth book, To Sir Phillip, With Love, and her ship name with Phillip (PhiLoise), it appears to be a subtle confirmation of what fans can expect in Bridgerton Season 5.
