The hit Netflix series Bridgerton has been going off-script regarding which character should take the spotlight in each season. This time around, we'll finally get to see the second eldest, Benedict Bridgerton, on the Marriage Mart in season 4.

Bridgerton Season 4 Spotlights Benedict's Entry in the Marriage Mart
The third much-awaited bachelor of the Bridgertons officially gets his spotlight in the fourth season.
If the Netflix show had followed the chronological order of Julia Quinn's novel series, Benedict's story should have been in the third season, not the fourth.
However, considering the series changed its trajectory fitting for the Lady Whistledown side-plot, Benedict's romance had to wait until Bridgerton season 4.
It is time to meet the man who tried to pursue the arts and swept ladies' feet in the shadows this coming return.
Who Will Be Benedict's Most Compelling Match?
Benedict Bridgerton had always been in the same boat as his older brother, Anthony, in terms of the marriage mart: he was not interested in commitment. Not entirely.
Although he has had his share of affairs flashing back to the first season with the likes of Madame Delacroix, a brief fling in his art class in season 2, and a sensual relationship with the widow Lady Tilley Arnold — most of whom were not really looking for a serious relationship apart from their risky rendezvous.
In his original novel, however, he falls for a mysterious woman she meets at the ball named Sophie Beckett.
Similar to how his siblings experienced their happy endings in marriage, Benedict has his own trope: yet another Cinderella story retold.
It is worth mentioning though that given how Bridgerton has its own twists and turns, Benedict could be finding his love match in a rather unconventional setting, most likely indeed. In this case, as revealed in season 3, he questioned his sexual identity.
"His identity has been [a] little bit of a question mark, but it doesn't ever seem to really bother him," Luke Thompson, who plays Benedict in the series, previously said, "It often feels like... 'You're either this, or you're this.' He's finding it out."
Potential Release Date For Bridgerton Season 4
While Bridgerton season 4 has no official release date yet, showrunner Jess Brownell recently shared an interesting detail on how long the filming for the series usually takes.
"We are working to try and put the seasons out more quickly," Brownell said, adding that filming takes eight months before editing and this does not include dubbing every language for it, "And the writing takes a very long time as well, so we're kind of on a two-year pace, but somewhere in that range."
The two-year gap doesn't seem unlikely, given how long the past seasons took before coming to fruition.
The series' debut happened on December 25, 2020, Anthony and Kate's Bridgerton season 2 premiered on the streamer on March 25, 2022, while the third season centering Colin and Penelope released its two parts on May 16 and June 13 this year.
Bridgerton season 4 may be looking at a 2026 release at this point if we follow the showrunner's timeline, with the inclusion of Benedict potentially encountering yet another crisis when it comes to his concept about marriage and relationships.
