Bridgerton became a guilty pleasure for millions of viewers during the covid-19 pandemic, and the trend continues, with Bridgerton Season 2 becoming Netflix's most watched series. That being the case, it came as no surprise that the period drama has been renewed for another season. But which sibling will Bridgerton Season 3 be about?
About Bridgerton
Bridgerton is a Netflix period drama set against the backdrop of England's Regency era - a popular period that is often chosen by modern romance writers, largely due to the legacy of authors such as Jane Austen.
Without spoiling much - if such a thing can be done in indulgent romances - the show follows the eight Bridgerton siblings in their quest to find love.
This is not a show you watch if you're keen on historical accuracy as Bridgerton is set in a largely reimagined world but the series still has a very dedicated fanbase.
While not without its problematic aspects, Bridgerton proved to be an ideal watch for many during the 2020 lockdown, as it offered fun and escapism - and the habit apparently stuck, given that the second season became even more popular!
Given this momentum, it came as no surprise that Bridgerton Season 3 had already been confirmed, even before the second season started airing. But, with the romantic loose ends tied for two of the Bridgertons, who will the new season be about?

Which Sibling Will Bridgerton Season 3 Be About?
Bridgerton Season 3 will focus on Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) and his romance with Penelope Featherington. Season 3 will therefore adapt book 4 of Julia Quinn's popular romance novel series about the eight Bridgerton siblings.
So far, the show has followed the orders the books came in, with the first season being based on book 1, The Duke and I which follows Daphne and her romance with Simon, Duke of Hastings.
Book 2, as well as the second season of the Netflix tv series, follow the romance of Anthony Bridgerton with Kate Sheffield
Season 3 was initially expected to be about Benedict Bridgerton, the second eldest sibling.
Instead, the choice was made to skip a book, and go straight into Colin and Penelope's romance that is covered in book 4.
“I really feel like it’s Colin and Penelope’s time. Because we’ve been watching both of these actors on our screens since Season 1, we’ve already invested in them a little bit. We know who they are as people,” showrunner Jess Brownell said in an interview.
She went on to explain that, so far, Colin has come close to realizing Pen's feelings for him but he doesn't quite get there, so it's finally time to explore these feelings. To be fair, it would probably be tiring to see them dancing around their feelings - and chemistry - for another season.
This doesn't mean that Benedict won't appear though. The next season might even be about him!
